* AOL Watch
- Very
cool site described as: a low-traffic moderated
announcement list about America Online. "...AOL customers "couldn't get a clue if they stood in a clue field in clue mating season, dressed as a clue, and drenched with clue pheromones." Are they right? Even AOL Guides are mocking whiny AOL subscribers behind their back..." * AOL SUCKS - was the best anti-AOL site until creator Tom Findley went to college and became self conscious. His ego prevents him from appreciating the historical value of his work. Instead of allowing others to preserve it he wants to destroy it. Findley says "The writing is awful. It is the work of an obsessed high school freshman that had been up for over twenty-four hours, and it shows quite painfully. ... I have neither the time nor inclination nor knowledge of AOL current events necessary to perform the updates. My apathy leads me to guilt, because I know from the web statistics that there are a fair number of people that read what I have written. I still get daily emails from people. What makes me feel guilty is I never read one of them. Ever since I came to Duke .... I don't read the hundreds of messages that have piled up..." * AOL Banned Poetry Dispute Archive - Documents America Online's attempts to censor poets. * AOL ACI/CLO Watchdog Page - ...The worst anti-AOL site, and it runs banner ads, it is a weird "insider thing", years out of date ...the security links pages are missing, ...I get the feeling the owner died several years ago or left the country....
